You already know ところ can mark time points (するところ / しているところ / したところ), but at N2 level there are four more patterns where the particle after ところ completely changes the meaning.
ところでは: According to... (information source)
「ところでは」means according to some source of information — "from what I saw/heard":

「ところを見ると」means based on an observed situation, making an inference — "judging by this sign":

ところだった: Almost... (near miss)
「ところだった」means something almost happened but actually didn't:

Caution: This ところだった (dictionary form + ところだった = almost did) is different from the time-point したところだった (た-form + ところだった = had just done)!
ところではない: Not the time for...
「ところではない」means the current situation is not suitable for doing something — "this isn't the time/place":

They mean the same thing; どころではない is more colloquial:
- 仕事をするところではない = 仕事どころではない (not the time for work)
